A busy weekend -- and a new room!

This weekend we had a busy and exciting time. Nana and Papa came to visit and play and, well, mostly work.

In preparation for the twins, Megan will be moving to a new room (formerly the guest room) and leaving the nursery. We decided this was better as Megan would be less jealous about all of the new things for the babies, and that she would be the one getting the new room.

We had planned to do this a little later, but when we had help that would volunteer to paint, we painted (Thanks Papa!). And while the painting was going on, Nana took Megan on her very own special shopping trip. She discovered that Megan has particular taste in clothes (although she didn't want many) but REALLY REALLY likes shoes. For those of you who don't know her shoe collection, let's just say that between how much she likes shoes, and how cute they are (so we buy cute shoes too) our kiddo has a shoe collection superior to parents! And since SHE got to pick these out, she got some shoes with a little sparkle! She also decided to wear a pair her Daddy bought her a few months back (flip flops) that she just learned to walk in without losing her shoes! (butterfly shoes below)

We weren't too bad until we found that Amazon.com sells shoes through their sister enterprise, endless.com and then we were hooked. You can browse by color or size, get free overnight shipping, and free returns if you don't like them or they don't fit -- way better than a trip to the mall with a two-year-old.

So after a full day of painting a pink and green room, a new ceiling fan, and then another trip to Pottery Barn Kids to pick up the matching bedding, Megan's room has officially moved. She is excited, although it took a little extra effort getting her to sleep tonight in the new room.
