Wow! It has been a wild ride. Introducing our much awaited Kylie Anne Homan, little sister to Ethan and Megan.

Some very precious cargo here.
After years of fertility treatments, IVF, and very planned kids, we were blessed with the unexpected news in April that our family would be growing.
Then an abnormal screening showed up, and led us to a routine amniocentesis. During amnio, my water ruptured which suddenly highly complicated this pregnancy and lowered the odds quite a bit that we would even get the chance to meet our little one. This was at the end of July.
Lots of bedrest later, the water resealed, the amnio came back normal (and told us it was a GIRL!)
In September the contractions and preterm labor started, and by November it was somewhat continuous.
I was admitted to the hospital over Thanksgiving to once again try to stop the contractions, and also given the steroid doses to help develop the baby's lungs.
December 6 - my water broke, and a frantic Momma and stressed Daddy headed to the hospital. After how fast we had Ethan, there was a real fear of not making it at all.
Never to fear, this would actually be my LONGEST labor to have this, our unusual and special little girl. Who decided to come when she was darn well ready. And in the end, they even gave me some pitocin because she was so stubborn about her own timing, no matter what I had in mind!
She was born at 34-1/2 weeks -- a preemie, and a time when many go to NICU. We had a whole NICU assessment team in our room. They were surprised to find an energetic, bright red and squawking little girl, not at all in need to NICU.
In fact, her Apgar was a 9&10. My delivery room nurse said she'd only ever seen a few 10's given - and never to a 34 week pregnancy. Again, one of our many blessings here with this little girl.
She is much loved and adored already. And we are blessed beyond measure.
